I'm Sam, and I built this because I was tired of doing this by hand.
Rust skins trade across a lot of different sites, and for a while I was manually checking most of them every time I wanted to sell something - opening tab after tab, comparing instant-sell payouts one by one, trying to remember which site had which fee, which one was actually paying well that week versus which one just looked good. It was slow, it was easy to get wrong, and every single time I wondered why nothing just showed me all of it at once.
Buy-side comparison wasn't the hard part - a few sites already did a decent job of that. Instant-selling was the part nobody covered properly. Most "comparison" sites either skipped it entirely or only checked one or two sources, which isn't really a comparison at all. If the whole point is finding the best payout, leaving most of the market out defeats the purpose.
So that's what ProjectCheap is actually for: the most complete picture I can build, on both sides. Not just "here's one buy price and one sell price" - every marketplace I can track, buy and instant-sell both, kept up to date automatically, so nobody else has to open fifteen tabs to figure out where to sell something. The instant-sell side specifically is the part I care most about getting right, since that's the exact problem that started this.
This is still an early, actively-changing project - I'm one person building it, adding sources, fixing things as I find them wrong, and changing the layout more than I'd like to admit. If something looks off, a price seems wrong, or a marketplace is missing that should be here, I want to know about it.
